about

Popular across England during the late 1970s, Dolmen were a psychedelic electronic band started in Trewanmead, England.
The band found fame playing clubs in nearby Bristol, Swindon and, of course, in London; even finding their way to the european mainland for a brief tour in 1976. However, the band would be short-lived, with lead guitarist John Pearl dying tragically at the age of 23 during the summer of 1977.
Following police investigations and a private funeral in Trewanmead in 1978, the cause of Pearl's death would never be made public.

'Bold' finds new audiences in the decades that follow the band's indefinite hiatus after the loss of their friend. Rumours have even spread that the very recordings found here were rehearsed and taped at the infamous Birch House, with members of the band having connections to Trewanmead's now-notorious Adder Group.
The last public interview for NME magazine by band member Paul Rowley in 2005 gave no hints of the band reforming, and further, rejected any members playing guest to Edda Birch. Rowley stated, "I weren't even from Trewanmead - I grew up in Winterbourne Monkton!"
